- What’s the connection between this film and “Who Killed the Electric Car?”
- Both films are by the same director — Chris Paine but “Revenge of the Electric Car” is a new documentary with a fresh story, new characters and a different style.
- Why “Revenge of the Electric Car?”
- Because electric cars are back from the dead and this time… they’re not turning back.
More broadly, there has been a real resurgence of in electric vehicles (EVs). Almost all the major car makers — in Europe, Asia and the US — are trying to get EVs onto the road as soon as possible. Many indies and converters are in on it too because the public is demanding them and for good reason. After years of delays and worse, EVs are again having their moment and this time – it looks unstoppable.
- What’s the film about?
- “Revenge of the Electric Car” tells the story of the EV renaissance. Higher oil prices, global warming, and an enlightened public (you!) are demanding it and this time the change is coming from all angles. From new cars to conversions to plug-in hybrids, we’ll follow the many strands of an electrifying story.
Can EVs finally challenge the 100-year rule of gasoline engines, petrodollars and entrenched interests?
- Plug-in vehicles still face huge obstacles. Seesawing oil prices, pricing and technical hurdles, public nervousness, industry fears. But this time the world is clamoring for a revolutionary new age in transportation. Will the EV prevail? That’s what we’re going to find out…
