		<description>I&#039;m not too excited about Nissan&#039;s price level because it doesn&#039;t include the most expensive part: the battery. Theoretically, since electric cars consist of far fewer parts than ICE vehicles they should be cheaper to build, especially if the one component that&#039;s still a cost problem is not included. Turns out Nissan&#039;s car is actually rather more expensive. On the other hand: they are the pioneers so I guess they do deserve to be compensated for the extra cost and risk involved in being the first. 

It&#039;s interesting you still count on BYD/China to take the lead in the EV revolution. Reports about china&#039;s EV policy indicate that it has in fact sidetracked plug-in technology:

Maybe they were offered better oil deals in return for delaying a China driven EV revolution or something, but what ever it is I don&#039;t expect to hear much of BYD come 2012.</description>
